How to Trade Tags

The trading platform is running and lots of income can be created by purchasing the right tags at the right price. Then selling them or buying them back to increase value and cashing out by offloading them.  What is a tag? A tag is an advertising word that a business pays to use in tagvillage eg 'Life Insurance' is a tag and so is 'green nike running shoes'.  Buy a tag and earn 20% of advertising revenue.

How do you choose tags to buy?  Keywordspy is the tool that most tagvillager's are using for research.  KWS collates information from the 3 major search engines and if the tag has advertisers and a good number of global monthly searches then it is a good tag to buy for your portfolio.  Sometimes the data  seems inaccurate as not all business allow KWS to collect this data - if it seems like a great word and you can see advertisers on a Google search then you could assume tagvillage could also attract them.

Strategy is important.  Buy as many low value tags as you can - the reason for this is leverage. You could bump the list around trading partners to increase the values or leave them to sell naturally.  As the tags sell you buy back to a price you set - perhaps you decide $1.08 is your exit point and you would then use the money to buy 10 more 10c tags and start again.  Each day you increase value and increase the number of tags you own.  In the future we expect top tags to be worth many thousands of dollars so by trading early you get the chance to build your values by trading.  Sony, Apple, Amazon and Ikea are our big advertisers - grab some of these tags while they are cheap to own.

Simple Advice to Get Ahead in Tag Trading:

Read
up on longtails and keywords
Grab a coffee to read Russell's article: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnx0YWd2aWxsYWdlbXJlem1vbmV5bWFrZXJ8Z3g6YmZhMDdlYWMyZjdmM2M4&pli=1

Research tags on Keywordspy
KWS provides data from the 3 major search engines

Need a starting point?
Try the yellow pages, dictionary and listen to tv and radio ads for ideas.  The newspaper and online news give me lots of ideas  – buy a notebook and take it everywhere with you to jot down ideas to research
Catalogues are a great source of tags!
The future of search engines will be relevancy so I would still lean towards tags that are easy to find on webpages exactly as you buy them – buy words in the order they appear on webpages
ie is ‘hat white’ or white hat’ easier to find?

Leave no tag behind!
While you are there clean out the niche – saves time
Record your good and great tags on a spreadsheet or in a notebook – if you are willing to let a word go at a dollar don’t record it
Spread yourself around 1word 2word and 3word tags - You need to be able to change tactics to meet the market so keep your mind open

Other Languages
If you speak other languages then now is the time to stockpile them for launch
German words seem to have the biggest stats.  I now own words in several languages and alphabets

Do not trade yourself dry!
Leave 5-10% trading money for buy backs
I am a fan of knowing when to let a word go – everyone likes a bargain so let them go early rather than later as it is better to have trading money to buy many words than be stuck with one word
It is easy to offload words under a dollar

Where do you sell tags?
Tagvillage groups on facebook are great!
Join some groups and chat and help others and if you need allies later you will have plenty to help you too
On the links to get started page there are two forums for selling tags
Hint:
if I was going to sell some words in a discussion thread I would head it up with your name in the title so we can find you.
‘Helene Courtney – Great words and stats under a dollar’

Don’t trade tired
or you will own ‘Spriral Straircase’ (yes I owned that tag LOL)
Be very careful with copy paste – you don’t want to own ‘izza’ instead of ‘pizza’
Avoid double spacing between words in a tag - buy 'black-boots' not 'black--boots'
Stop and retry if the price of the tag doesn't make sense - Apple Ipad is 10c!? - it's likely you have an extra space in the tag so try again before buying!

Tags are always for sale
Found a great 10c tag that you feel is worth more to you?
Find a tag trading partner to boost the value of the tag.

Above all have fun!
